The Social Economy Research Network of Ireland held its inaugural PhD Workshop on 18-19 May 2026 at the Centre for Social Innovation, Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin. Researchers travelled from across the Ireland for oral presentations, keynote speeches and professional-development workshops. Led by Prof. Sheila Cannon (TCD) and Dr. Ziene Mottiar (TU Dublin), the workshop provide a opportunity for PhD researchers to present work-in-progress, receive constructive feedback from peers and senior academics, and engage with a network of scholars committed to advancing knowledge in the areas of the social and solidarity economy, social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, social finance and social innovation. Planning for the second PhD Workshop in 2027 has already begun.
